Late Night Renewed

Jimmy Fallon

Yesterday started out as suck a good day.  Up at a reasonable hour for a bartender, walked around, got some sun.  It was in the afternoon that I erred and through the rest of the day into the toilette.  While flipping through the channels, I stopped for 10 or so minutes on The Glenn Beck Show.

His assault on my jollies lasted 30 seconds before I could find the remote. Beck went on and on using statistics and chalkboards to prove the country will soon become the next Stalinist paradise.  I turned the TV off and looked for the proper medication to enhance my mood.  Alas, no anti-depressants were found.

However, PopEater.com posted a bit that raised my spirits up off the beige carpet.  It seems my neighbor and pal Jimmy Fallon will be employed for another year.

After two seasons of schmoozing with the cream of the crop, ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’ will live to see a third.

Although his rise to the top of the late night totem pole was at first an uncertain one, Jimmy Fallon has proved that he’s more than comfortable in his interviewing chair. According to Entertainment Weekly, Fallon’s contract was renewed earlier this year, binding him to the show until early 2012, at least.

According to EW, Fallon’s ratings were up 16 percent, averaging 1.8 million viewers per show. NBC’s ‘Last Call with Carson Daly’ and Jay Leno‘s ‘The Tonight Show’ were also renewed for another season.

From ‘Thank You Notes’ to delightful musical snacks, it’s no wonder that Fallon is raking in some big numbers.

Congrats old friend and here’s to another year of your inspired Late Night humor.
