The Core Belief

Sundown on the 18th marks the beginning of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year.  Jews everywhere will gather for festive meals with family and then go the synagouge to hear the Shofar, a ram’s horn made into a kind of bugle, blow to ring in the 10 Days of Awe culminating in Yom Kippur, the Jewsih Day of Atonement.

This year, for the first time since I’ve been 18, I am ringing in Rosh Hashana by my Mother in Scotttsdale, Arizona.  I am fighting off a food coma from all the food.  I believe she thinks I’m too skinny.

More missives tomorrow gang.  Until then, eat your apples and honey.  My G-d inscribe you in the book of life.

Happy New Year!
