Paul Harvey – RIP

The Core Belief

A quick note, this snowy first day in March:

Paul Harvey died at age 90 on 2/28/09.  Perhaps there are those of you who never hard him or never cared for his oddly accented editorials.  Whatever.

As I went through many exanimations I the late 1970’s and early 1980’s to prove that the chronic right side belt line pain I was experiencing was appendicitis, my mother had Paul Harvey’s ‘The Rest of the Story’ playing on WJR-AM radio.  I found his voice soothing as I turned green, waiting for another spasm to subside.

His passing has been noted by many a media outlet.  However, even though I haven’t heard his voice over the airwaves in nearly 30 years, I will always remember the comfort he gave me in my occasionally sickened youth.

RIP.

My appendix was taken out in 1982 and the pain ceased.
