Pumps On Hollywood Boulevard

Overheard In A Los Angeles Bar

Six young women are making their way from Hollywood Boulevard, through the Roosevelt Hotel to the Tropicana Bar.  They are dressed in tight multi-colored dresses and all are wearing pumps with at least 4-inch heels.

As they approach the entrance to the Roosevelt, one of the young women slips and barely manages to right herself before she hits the pavement.  “Oh my gawd,” she says.  “You think they would have thought about girls in heels when they built this city.”

Of course, all of her comrades nod and each chirps a declarative affirmative statement that begins with the words “Oh my gawd…”
