Dave Mustaine Hates Obama On Foreign Soil

The First Essential Scary Truth

The presidential election must be coming soon as gaffes by those in power, in the public eye or with a bully pulpit are becoming a daily occurrence.  Yesterday, the Vice President managed to give himself a massive toe jam sandwich by stating, in a faux southern accent, that Republican deregulation of banks is “going to put y’all back in chains.”

Today’s bit of self-toe sucking comes from a rather unlikely source: Megadeth front man Dave Mustaine.  During a break between songs at a Singapore concert, Mustaine decided to have a political discussion with his audience.

Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine rocked concertgoers during a recent show in a completely different way – blaming President Obama for “staging” the recent spate of mass shootings in the United States.

At the band’s Aug. 7 concert in Singapore, the 50-year-old heavy metal went on a bizarre anti-Obama rant in between songs.

“Back in my country, my president is trying to pass a gun ban, so he’s staging all of these murders,” says Mustaine in a video flagged by heavy metal news site Blabbermouth.net Wednesday.

“Like the ‘Fast And Furious’ thing down at the border and Aurora, Colorado, all the people that were killed there and now the beautiful people at the Sikh temple.”

On a recently-surfaced video clip taken by a fan, the crowd can be heard going quiet as Mustaine continued his diatribe.

“I don’t know where I’m gonna live if America keeps going the way it’s going because it looks like it’s turning into Nazi America,” said Mustaine.

The heavy metal singer-guitarist, who once wrote the lyrics to the anti-George H.W. Bush administration song “Foreclosure of a Dream,” has shown over the course of this year that he has an ax to grind with the Democratic President.

He outed himself as a birther in March when he told a Canadian talk show that he believes Obama was not really born in the United States.

“[I have] a lot of questions about him, but certainly not where he was born,” Mustaine said on “The Hour.” “I know he was born somewhere else than America.”

This from a man man who reported from the Democratic National Convention for MTV News at Madison Square Garden during the 1992 election.

Mustaine, though, has admitted in interviews over recent years that he has changed many of his opinions since he ditched drugs and alcohol and became a born-again Christian.

Earlier this month, Mustaine regurgitated his birther views in an interview with conspiracy theorist radio host Alex Jones.

“Why hasn’t somebody moved to impeach this man?” Mustaine said on Jones’ Infowars show. “With all of the proof about his birth certificate being fake. And you see the signs in Kenya that say ‘the birthplace of Barack Obama.’ Hello?! C’mon, guys. How stupid are we right now?”

What Vice President Biden said bothers me not in the least.  He’s a political hack shoved into the second highest and arguably least important office in the land by his party in an attempt to promote him to get rid of him; a time honored corporate tactic.  But Biden, with his propensity for the gaffe has managed to rehabilitate both Spiro T. Agnew and Dan Quayle and for that bit magic, one must laude the old hack.

At the same time what Dave Mustaine said doesn’t bother me either – although I think it’s utter hogwash and he was a better musician and maybe even a person when he was on the sauce and the pipe.  However where he chose to say it bothers me greatly. For the record, I have no love for the current administration or their policies.  Thus someone who has a critique of the White House is someone I might be inclined to listen to as long as said critique is said ON AMERICAN SOIL.

It used to be understood that our arguments and debates about our governmental mouseburgers were for our eyes and ears only.  Yes, you might see things on the BBC or read things in various foreign newspapers but our personal gripes were left for our fellow citizens on native soil.  At the very least, it gave the enemies of the Republic the idea of a common front against the world.  At best, it showed the world that we actually believed our own propaganda; you remember: Loose Lips Sink Ships?

Ah, now there’s a song title for Metallica, assuming they still despise their deposed bandmate.
