The Second Essential Scary Truth

My second week in LA and I finally have WiFi in the house a couch in the living room.  A pain in the ass for a few days?  Absolutely.  However one of the unintended side effects of lack of furniture and no Internet access from the house was my wandering around Koreatown looking for a place, anyplace that had access to allow me to blog for you dear reader.

The nearest Starbucks was in Larchmont Village, a mere 1.8 miles away.  On my walk to said Starbucks, I found a sight that looked something like this off to my left on one of the many side streets that still remain nameless to your occasionally intrepid blogger:

I haven’t seen a home surrounded by barbed wire since I left Detroit in 1987.  I suppose a welcome home is in order.
