The ‘Snuff FIlm’ used to be considered an urban myth, something kids in the ’70’s and ’80’s could scare each other over a campfire in the woods or backyard.

However, according the cover of the Sauturday New York Daily News and various other media outlets, that very myth has become reality as a young man committed suicide by drug overdose via webcam.  There were various people watching this act of self abasement and did nothing to stop it.

Fine.  I can deal with the do nothing nature of the general populous, as sick and depraved as it is.   And the general desire to make this kid into some kind of grand societal martyr will surely follow but do we need another inevitably bad Jodi Foster film from this?
