A Great Comment From Reader T – The Zola System In Action

The Zola System In Action

After much cajoling, askance and plain old begging, I finally have readers e-mailing comments on various pieces.  As promised, I have been posting them.  There are some comments, however, that require their own blogs to truly be enjoyed.  The following comment is a fabulous example.

This from T on the Post Modern Culture blog:

“I liked your statement that many younglings have unearned arrogance.  I don’t know if that is better than the arrogance born of cluelessness that I have to work with.  Also, more evidence of youth dominance.  I got off early today and went over to Herbsaint (a bar in New Orleans) for a bite and to get a nice cocktail.  My bartendress had no crow’s feet and not a bit of cellulite.  Literally, as she was SHAKING my Sazerac, a regular (sixty-something successful local business man with a helluva Nawlins twangy slur) gets up from his table to come to the bar and palm her a twenty.  Seriously, what the hell does he think is going to happen?  He’s been around, he has had to have seen this very same situation that he is living.  Lord knows he was not tipping her for the quality of the cocktail.  Although sweet, she was not even very savy in her conversation.  I have no desire to actually see it, but I wonder what my life would have been like if I had been born with different plumbing.  Would we be doing a blog spot on the deteriorating situations in the nudie bars that are snubbing us?  Some questions are best left unanswered.  Maybe even unasked.”

Sweet Jesus, it’s happening all over!

Send me your comments, I will post them or put them in a blog.  And, if you are so inclined, send me a guest blog, I’d love to put them up.
